In a chapter entitled Génétiques de la computer music I demonstrate that techniques derives from the discipline of philology of music can be usefully applied to the study of computer music. The chapter  outlines an overview of past genetic/philological/analytical studies, the taxonomy of sources in Computer Music, and an overview of the comprehensive study of the composition of Stria (1977) by John Chowning.
